| Sooo, my last internship ended. I am now officially a kindergarten teacher. :dummy: Don't planning on doing that for the rest of my life, but it's comforting to know that, if everything goes wrong, I will at least still be able to find a job somewhere, because there's always a need for kindergarten teachers. Anyways, I started this picture actually some time ago, but due to having much to do and being sick, I didn't get around finishing it until now. So, meet my version of Kopa. :D In my headcanon, he'll actually turn out to be an antagonist. He's also the son of Nala and Scar and was conceived when Scar forced himself upon Nala. He was born shortly after Scar's downfall...or shortly before, dunno yet. I was thinking of making Vitani his littermate, because I like the theory of Nala being her mom. But I think Vitani just looks way too similar to Zira to really be Nala's offspring...Also, I'd have to explain why Nala kept Kopa but gave away Vitani...so, not sure about that yet, but they are half-siblings at least. Due to being Scar's son, Kopa didn't get to be the heir or the leader of the lion guard, which frustrated and angered him. Simba didn't decide that to be mean, he tried his hardest to raise Kopa as his own son; but he was still paranoid because of everything Scar did, and was afraid the animals wouldn't accept Kopa as an heir or leader of the guard, seeing that, while his pelt was lighter and his build sturdier, when you gazed upon his eyes, you saw a hint of the lion that sired him. So instead of giving him a chance to prove himself to the animals, he tried to keep him at bay, promising him that he still had his place in the pride and the great circle of life, even if he wasn't going to be any of the things mentioned above. A mistake probably, because it made Kopa jealous and feel like his place in the pride was taken from him - by Simba, and his younger siblings, and basically everyone in the Pridelands that he thought just saw his father in him, instead himself, Kopa. Simba decided to give Kopa another task and betrothed him to a slightly older lioness in a neighboring pride, sending Kopa off to live with them, hoping Kopa would be happy to someday lead that pride instead. Kopa wasn't, however, he felt like Simba was just getting rid of him, and little did Simba know that history was about to repeat itself. This is just the rough idea.
