Every year, when the last snow melts away the people of Awaik-Dur are celebrating the festival of the wintermoon. This festival shall bring them luck and a good harvest in the upcomming year. But this time the people of Awaik-Dur felt there was something different than normally. The snow didnt least until the first day of the event, how it normally was all the years and even the animals seemed nervouse. Shaoda walked her daily route to the market, when she went out for buying food for the dinner in the evening. The sky seemed normal but the behavior of the people felt iced. One eyebrow lifting she entered her favorite shop.
"Hello Magneja." She steped into the small room, filled with shelves and baskets. You could find every possible food at the old womans store, but the most people didnt paid attention. Shoada came here since she was a young Sergal and old lady knew her better than the most of the villagers. "Magneja, are you here?" Shoada droped her basked and entered the room behind the selling-table.
"Shoada you,...you need to leave, hurry!"
"W-what? But why?"
"Shoada I dont have time to explain it! You need to leave the city!"
The young sergal was confused. The old lady tried to push her out of the room, but Shoada simply took her hands in her paws.
"What is wrong with you old lady?! You are acting weird!"
"Shaoda, please you need to flee!" Tears where showing in the grannies eyes, but she doestn want to leave without an answer.
"What is going on here! Common, you know me since I was 5! What is up here?!"
"They want to sacrifice you! The new lord Parudon wants to victimise you to the moon festival!"
"W-what. Why? Why ME?! Who told you this? TELL ME!"
Magneja pulled her little girl closer to herself, even when Shoada was 3 heads greater than herself.
"I heard the soldiers talking at the market, when I wanted to visit my brother last night. He wants to give you as vicitm because you have great potential and he wants to save the blessing of the great moon god for his war next year. Shoada, please you need to flee! NOW!"
The young serval was confused, what was happening here? For more than three centuries now there was no vicitm anymore. She short nodded before she turned and fleft the shop without waiting any second anymore. Magneja never lied to her. She,...she couldnt had a reason to! Shoada's minds where running wild. Where should she go now? Running as fast possible she ran to her house. Inside she grabbed a bag and tried to put all neccessary things in it. She put the bag on her back and run down the stairs, but it was too late. "Shoada, the great lord pleases you to come with us. You are the chosen one for this festival. Please dont make us any problems or we will be allowed to force you to come with us"
The words of the commander ran like cold water down her back and Shoada stand there, stunned and not able to move. But she couldnt simply give up! It was her life! Not HIMS!
"Never!" she screamed before she pushed down her back on the soldier and turned around, the stairs uprunning. The soldiers followed her, even as she was jumping out of the window on another house.
"You dont have a right to do this! It is my life, not yours!"
"You can be happy to be the chosen one! Its a great honor to become a part of the plan from our great lord Parudon!"
Shoada turned back and pulled out her daggers.
"Than go by yourself! GO AND DIE FOR HIM! But I will not become the victim for this bastard of a lord!"
The commander became more and more angry, he attacked the sergal woman, again and again. The fight last over one hour. Both where at their limit. The commander same as Shoada had open wounds, but she was fighting like an animal. She would never give her life for this! Never!
But the commander became bored and nodded to one of his soldiers who took out his bow and a anesthesia arrow. Shoada didnt noticed it, because the commander was allready attacking her again. A few seconds later the arrow hin in her upper arm. She pulled it out and sweared on the solider, but she didnt had a chance anymore. Her view got blured more and more, until her body gave up and she felt down on the stone.
"My god, this girl. Take her up and bring her to the temple. HURRY!" the commander screamed at his soliders. The last thing Shoada saw, was how he walked away...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So...that was what she regocnised all the time. Shoada heard the whispers of people around her. The air was cold and she was freezing. She felt how she was moving...or got moved. Slowly she opened her eyes. The sky above her head was wonderfull clear and the last sun light was going under. The soliders carried her on a small cart over the market place to the temple. All those views of the people which where laying on her. They were sad. Some were crying. Shoada now understood. Thats what she was feeling in her town was the emotions of the people around her, which seemed to knew what was going on. And nobody had warned her. She droped a tear. Who could be mad? They all had daughters and nobody wanted to get arrested or worse for telling her. She turned her view back to the sky. So there was no hope for her...She closed her eyes, waiting for them to arrive the temple.
It needed only a bit more until she felt how the soldiers grabbed her up and fixed her body on a statue. She opened her eyes. So many people where standing there. But not only one seemed happy. She took a deep breath of the cold air. The soldiers had put her in a festival dress, she was cleaned and her hands where fixed together. No chance to escape and even if, the soldiers would kill her.
In the moment she was thinking about to flee somehow, a voice interrupted her minds.
"So there are we now, people of Awaik-Dur! Over three centuries we waited for a signal for us. A signal we can see and something we can do to guarantee us the win of the war with out rgeat enemies. And there we are now. This young sergal will be our present to our great god!"
"I will not make any change to the war, you idiot..." Shoada whispered.
The lord turned and walked to her, her face grabbing and whispering.
"You wont in first line. But the signal i am sending. And those of your great old lady..."
Shoadas eyes got wide. Not Magneja!
"Dont you dare to touch her!" She growled.
The lord laughed and turned back to the people. "As you can see we are really blessed now! We got two creatures to present our great god of the moon! This old woman tried to save her beloved young girl when we were up to find her for the great festival this night."
The soldiers brought Magneja to the temple entry. She was wounded and cried. Shoada screamed.
"Take your hands away from her! You shit bastard! LET HER GO! YOU ALLREADY HAVE ME! She hast done anything to you!"
The lord watched over his shoulder and grin evil.
"Oh, you want to say good bye? For sure I will let you do this, bring the old woman here!" he commanded his soldiers. Shoada tried to break her chains, but there was no chance to.
Tears ran down her cheeks when Magneja was positioned on her knees in front of Shoada.
"No! No! PLEASE! I do whatever you want me to, but let her go!" Her view was searching Magnejas eyes, but her head was sunken on her chest.
"Oh, dont worry you will get your show in a few minutes." the lord answered.
"Magneja! Please! Try to run! Try to stand up! They are not allowed to take your life! PLEASE! MAGNEJA!" Shoada tried more and more to break free, but one of the soliders hit her face with his fist to make her silent. Shoada blinked a few times, her view was blured.
"So my people! This is what will happen to anyone of you who will get in my way! We have to win this war and I will not accept any trouble here!....Make an end to the old lady. May she rest in peace." The last words he said to the two soldiers beside Magneja. Both took their swords out, the blade tip holing on the womans upper chest. Shoada's mouth stand open, tears were running, when Magneja a last time lifted up her head.
"I have allways loved you as one of my childs. Never forget this Shoada. They cant...kill this connection." She smiled a last time before the blades breakthrough her chest directly in her heart. Shoada screamed, her voice was loud enough to be heard over the entire temple place.
Silence followed. The people on the place looked shocked, but the soldiers didnt lost any time and steped to Shoada. She lifted her head, the face to the moon. She didnt made any sound anymore, when she felt the cold steel on her chest, the warm blood of Magneja running down her thin clothes.
The ritual master started to sind a song she had heard to many times before. It was the same they all time used. it was so not fitting to this time, but she heard the ritual master was sobbing quiet between he words. This was all so wrong. This lord was wrong, his plans were wrong, this event was....wrong. She closed her eyes and started to sind with the master, who turned his view surprised to her. A few minutes later the people on the place joined the song. More and more lifted their heads, watching Shoada, while the moonlight was glowing on her body and the place around her.
The soldiers became nervouse, but the lord gave a signal to stay calm. Should they sing their stupid song, he didnt belived in the god anyway. He needed the respect of the people. Respect through fear. That was the most effective in his sight. His view turned to Shoada and in the moment the song ended, he gave the signal.
Silence filled the air, when Shoada's head sunk down on her chest and her eyes closed.
"Now my people we will be sure the war will be ours!" the lord was rising his arms, victory stand in his face. But the people didnt react. They starred on the moon. The lord lowerd the eyebrows and watched up. The moon was changing the colors. Red like blood turned his surface while the light on the place was shining in the same way. The fires got blown out by the wind, people started to scream , but the soliders didnt let them go.
"So....you think you won Parudon? Son of the broken sword?" The lord winced shocked and turned to Shoada's body.
"This cant be real!?" He ran to her, grabbing his sword and putting it directly into her heart. But there was nothing than the sound of her laughing voice, when she lifted her head and starred directly into his eyes.
"Is this all you have?" she whispered. Her eyes were bleeding, a cold view was laying on him. The lord opened his mouth shocked. She needed only one move to break the chains on her arms and her body, while he was struggeling backward. She laughed while the soldiers attacked her. her arms lifting she grabbed their head armor and smashed them on each other before she grabbed their swords. The sound of the metal when they broke down was hearable over the entire place.
"You, will not win this game Parudon!" The lord watched her while searching for a sword. She grabbed him up, her strengh unbeliveable to all the visitors, and smashed him back on the statue where she was standing only a few moments ago. She moved her hands and blood lines where rising, fixing him magically on this place.
"Now,...you will stay there and watch." Her body changed and the festival clothings turned into dark amor parts.
"You will watch your kingdom burn "'lord', you will watch how I will kill the one of yours."
"No! YOU WONT! You cant defeat all of them! In this city are more than 5000 soldiers!"
"Is this all you have?" she asked whispering with a big smile on her face, the eyes glowing.
With those words she turned around, the arms rising. The two dead soldiers stand up like puppets, slowly, struggeling. All over the place soldiers ran in direction of the temple, while the lord was screaming in the background. But the people of the city only started to sing again the song of the moon. Shoada lifted her weapons and started to walk down the stairs of the temple, becoming faster and faster.
"You will never again kill one of those people here....
Not.
As.
Long.
