Ixtab, mayan goddess and protector of those who kill themselves. She accompanies those suicides and leads them to paradise, since ending your own life isn't a sin but can be a honorable way to die.
The new and old gods are still among us, being born again and again, seemingly human.
So fifteen year old, reborn, Ixtab has to continue to fulfill her duty.
